Yeah..!! Kata-kata yang diatas artinya bentar lagi uangku akan bertambah, kalau nggak boleh disebut “berlipat-lipat”. Bukan apa-apa, terakhir kali ada IPO (Initial Public Offering) dari perusahaan lain, uangku berlipat 2 kali loh!Kalau belum tau apa itu IPO atau go public, itu artinya sebuah perusahaan bermaksud menjual beberapa persen sahamnya ke publik untuk yang pertama kalinya. Biasanya sebuah IPO akan disambut secara hangat oleh masyarakat (baca: diserbu), syaratnya, perusahaan tersebut sehat dan credible.
Terus, mengapa kita harus terjun kedalam IPO? Karena buat sebuah perusahaan, yang namanya IPO ya cuma sekali aja, setelah itu semuanya diserahkan kepada mekanisme pasar. Menariknya adalah, biasanya (warning: nggak selalu) harga sebuah saham akan naik beberapa saat setelah IPO. Disitulah kita akan menarik keuntungan, dan pada saat itulah uang kita berlipat.
Tanpa bermaksud sombong, uangku juga pernah merasakan “diklon” seperti ini. Ini terjadi pada tahun 2004 kalau gak salah, waktu itu ada IPO BRI, aku beli dan setelah sebulan uangku udah berlipat 2 kali! Kalau aku tahan-tahan uangnya terus sampai sekarang, harganya udah berlipat lebih dari 10 kalinya! Tetapi memang pada saat itu sahamnya udah keburu dijual. Dan aku gak menyesal kok. Memang nggak ada jaminan kalau harga saham akan meningkat di masa yang akan datang, oleh karena itu ada yang namanya prospektus.
Prospektus ini gunanya untuk para calon investor yang ingin nanamin uangnya untuk beli saham suatu perusahaan, jadi, intinya kita mesti lihat apakah perusahaan yang pengen kita beli (ya benar, beli saham tuh artinya kita beli “a piece of that company”) adalah sebuah perusahaan yang credible dan sehat. Indikatornya banyak, seperti CAR dan ROI. Kita memang mesti tau sedikit tentang balance sheet. Tapi, buatku sih angka-angka itu layak untuk dipelajari melihat kemungkinan keuntungan yang akan didapat. 
So, kalau mau nginvest, sekarang saatnya. Jangan lupa ya, baca prospektusnya. Dan -seperti segala hal didunia ini- kita tidak bisa membaca masa depan, ada kemungkinan harga saham akan jatuh. Tetapi biasanya sih harga saham kalau habis IPO naik.
