Setelah beberapa lama berkutat di dunia internet marketing, akhirnya anda pasti akan membutuhkan yang namanya hosting. Ada ratusan, mungkin ribuan hosting company diluar sana. Bagaimana memilih hosting yang baik adalah salah satu seni tersendiri. Nggak jarang kita berpindah-pindah hosting kesana kemari, untuk mendapatkan pelayanan terbaik dengan harga yang terbaik juga tentunya. Jika belum mendapat gambaran bagaimana hosting yang baik, ada baiknya dibaca dulu panduan memilih hosting yang baik 
.
Kali ini saya akan ceritakan pengalaman saya berpindah-pindah hostingan. Saya akan ceritakan kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing hosting.
1. Hostgator
Ini adalah hosting yang banyak sekali mendapat pujian diforum tentang hosting company. Memiliki cPanel, support ticket dengan live chat support, flash tutorial, uptime yang lumayan bagus. Intinya, perusahaan ini adalah perusahaan yang ideal. Tapi saya berhenti memakai mereka. Lo, kenapa? Karena saya nggak butuh lagi, karena saya punya hosting yang lebih murah . Selain itu, ternyata banyak publisher dari Indonesia yang punya pengalaman buruk dengan Hostgator. Jadi ceritanya mereka exceed limit resource (melebihi beban resource yang ada), nah accountnya langsung dihalt sama Hostgator. Sampai sini masih bisa diterima, biasanya juga gitu. Yang membuat mereka kesal adalah hostgator tidak mengizinkan kita mengakses panel sampai kita mau upgrade, misalnya hanya mau backup data aja. Uh.. terpaksa deh upgrade. Untung saya nggak pernah ngalamin ini.
2. SLHost
Saya tertarik memakai hosting ini karena ada diskon besar-besaran. Bayangin, untuk VPS Hosting (Virtual Private Server Hosting) hanya seharga $27 perbulan, murah sekali dibandingkan dengan VPS yang biasanya dilempar seharga $35 – $45 per bulan. Kenapa saya butuh VPS? Karena saya waktu itu butuh hosting dengan resource tinggi. Saya memang punya script automated posting yang butuh banyak sekali resource. Harapan saya sih uang bisa datang. Hasilnya? Uang memang datang, tapi nggak sebanding dengan biaya hosting yang dikeluarin. Jadi saya stop hosting di SLHost.
Oh ya, tentang fasilitasnya, ada WebHostingManager, cPanel, ticket support yang dijawab kurang dari 24 jam. Selama saya hosting disana sih nggak ada masalah, tapi review dari para customer bilang sebaliknya, mereka bilang ada masalah disana
3. Asian Brain Hosting
Fiturnya standar, dan saya memang memakai hosting ini untuk percobaan ini itu. Ada cPanel, WHM, dan ticket support. Saya tidak memakai hosting ini untuk keperluan bisnis. Hanya untuk testing saja.
4. Servage
Dari semua hosting yang saya sewa, inilah perusahaan yang paling lama saya pakai. Mereka memang tidak memakai cPanel, tapi fasilitasnya nggak kalah sama cPanel, ada autoinstaller (termasuk didalamnya wordpress), ticket support yang menjawab kadang hanya dalam waktu beberapa menit saja. Dan yang paling saya suka adalah murah! Tidak ada pilihan paket-paketan segala, hanya ada 1 paket saja. Kapasitasnya 3.6TB bandwith, 360 GB diskspace, unlimited domain, unlimited webmail dan hanya 6.45 dollar per bulan.
