Banyak sekali cara-cara Search Engine Optimization yang ada di net. Memang sih, beberapa manjur, beberapa juga caranya agak nggak masuk akal dan berbahaya buat situs kita.
Oiya, kalau belum tau apa itu SEO, ini nih cara-cara webmaster supaya site-nya bisa mempunyai rank tinggi di search engine macam Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask Jeeves, Altavista de el el, de el el… Lengkapnya tentang SEO, lihat aja di sini (dalam English).
Nah, ada cara SEO yang paling baru (baru sekitar sebulan umurnya) dan lumayan heboh, dikenalin sama Sean Wu. Namanya Tag and Ping. Intinya sederhana, yaitu kita tempatin link website kita di social bookmarking macam delicious sehingga kita punya backlink yang bermutu. BTW, info seperti ini nih dijual sama Sean seharga 147 dollar loh. Kalau menurut saya sih, kemahalan banget…
Masalahnya adalah, does this thing works? Menurut saya, sekarang hal ini memang bisa dilaksanakan, tapi saya yakin hanya dalam hitungan beberapa bulan (kalau gak boleh bilang beberapa minggu) kedepan para pembuat situs yang pengen instan akan bejibun pakai cara ini, dan algoritma search engine langsung berubah within no time karena para punggawa search engine akan segera sadar kalau cara ini bukanlah cara yang benar untuk meng-generate posisi search engine yang bagus.
Blog master Andy Wibbels malah bilang: “Tag and Ping? I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.” Yeah, memang untuk sekarang cara ini masih top, tapi menurut saya jangan terlalu mengandalkan cara ini. Pakai cara umum aja, tukeran link. Lebih lambat memang, tapi akan lebih manjur in the long term.

Menurut saya, tag and ping bagus untuk search engine selain google. karena robot google sekarang sudah semakin pintar. Mas Aziz tahu komunitas abers yang mau tukaran link ?
saya juga pernah denger dari ahira bahwa tag and ping, solusi jitu utk menaikan peringkat keposisi bintang lima pada kata pencarian.(ber-rengking)
