Beberapa saat yang lalu Microsoft mengeluarkan program gratisan. Ya, saya sudah hampir mendengar keluhan anda… “Microsoft lagi…?”. Tapi kali ini mereka mengeluarkan program yang menurut saya bagus dan free. Jadi, rasanya worth to try.
Mereka mengeluarkan 7 (plus 1) program (yang masih beta semuanya) yang bisa kita gunakan secara gratis tanpa harus diembel-embeli sesuatu. Program itu adalah:
- Messenger (seperti Yahoo Messenger)
- Mail (seperti Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, tapi hanya bisa untuk Hotmail, Yahoo (plus) dan Gmail)
- Writer (untuk menulis blog tanpa harus online, bisa di wordpress, blogger, typepad, live space dan lain-lain)
- Photo Gallery (ngedit foto, upload foto, tagging foto, intinya organisasi foto)
- Movie Maker (ngedit film, pengembangan dari Movie Maker yang lama, kali ini udah pakai menu ribbon style)
- Toolbar (untuk ditempelin di IE, not my favorite browser)
- Family Safety (kalau komputer anda dipakai sama orang lain, misalnya anak anda, program ini bisa memantau kegiatan online anak anda, termasuk ngeblok situs tertentu, porno misalnya..)
- Microsoft Office Outlook® Connector (ini plus 1-nya, gunanya untuk synchronize Outlook di beberapa komputer, termasuk kalender. Saya masukkan ke kategori plus karena butuh program utama, yaitu Outlook – yang tidak saya pakai
– )
Nah, saya hanya tertarik mencoba 2 program saja, yaitu Writer untuk ngeblog dan Movie Maker. Postingan inipun saya tulis memakai Writer secara offline, dan rasanya saya bakalan betah memakai Writer ini kalau sekedar untuk nulis. Tentunya kalau butuh nyetting plugin, theme dan lain-lain tetep kudu login di dashboard wordpress.
Untuk download kita bisa milih atau semua (sekitar 190an MB) atau bisa satu-satu, Saya sih pilih satu-satu, lagian buat apa Toolbar, Outlook Connector, padahal saya nggak pakai IE dan nggak pakai Outlook? Anda bisa mendownload dari website aslinya disini.
